About Nakara Baan
Built Around the Traveller, Not the Timetable
A small guesthouse that began with one simple idea: that a long wait between flights should feel like a proper rest, not a delay.
Back to HomeOur Story
A Lane in Bang Sao Thong, a World Away from the Terminal
Nakara Baan began in 2014 when Khun Praew and her husband Somchai decided to open their family home to the steady stream of travellers they noticed stranded between connections at Suvarnabhumi. The word "Baan" means home in Thai — and that intention has shaped every decision since.
What started as three guest rooms and a breakfast table has grown gradually into a thoughtfully arranged property with day rooms, overnight doubles and a family suite, each designed to give tired travellers genuine rest without any fuss. The lane outside is quiet. The team inside is attentive but unhurried.
Our shuttle timetable was built by working backwards from the terminal — not from our convenience, but from your departure time. That approach, small as it sounds, is what we think makes Nakara Baan different.
Opened Our Doors
Three rooms and a kettle. The beginning of a quieter way to transit.
Shuttle Service Launched
We added our own van and timetable after guests kept missing connections.
Long Layover Suite Added
A spacious new suite for families and groups staying up to 24 hours.
What We Stand For
Three Things We Hold to Quietly
Calm Over Efficiency
We do not rush check-in or push guests out early. Every interaction is unhurried because travel already carries enough pressure.
Honest Care
We tell guests what we can do and what we cannot. A room ready at a sensible time is worth more than a vague "of course, sir" that leads to waiting.
Home, Not Hotel
We are not a chain property. The welcome is personal, the rooms feel lived-in well, and the team knows the neighbourhood and the airport equally.
The Team
The Faces Behind the Front Desk
A small, steady crew who have worked together long enough to know each other's rhythms — and yours, after a few minutes.
Praew Pongsak
Founder & Host
Born in Bang Sao Thong, Khun Praew opened Nakara Baan with a clear sense of what a layover guest actually needs — and still greets newcomers herself most mornings.
Somchai Chaiyasit
Operations & Shuttle
Somchai manages the shuttle timetable and room readiness with a calm precision that guests notice without quite knowing why everything feels easy.
Nong Wattana
Guest Relations
Nong handles enquiries, booking confirmations and the small details — a wake-up call note slipped under the door, a tea tray ready at an unusual hour.
How We Work
Our Standards, In Plain Language
Room Safety & Cleanliness
Every room is cleaned to a full housekeeping standard between guests, regardless of how short the stay. Linen is changed every time.
Shuttle Reliability
Our vehicle is serviced quarterly. Drivers hold valid Thai commercial licences and know the airport roads at every hour of the day.
Guest Privacy
Guest information is kept securely and shared with nobody outside the property. We do not contact guests after departure without permission.
Fire & Safety Compliance
The property meets local fire safety requirements with extinguishers on each floor, clearly marked exits and annual safety checks.
Reliable Connectivity
We maintain two separate internet connections so that one backup is always available. Fibre-grade speeds throughout the property.
Open Feedback Policy
Every guest is invited to share feedback directly. We read every message and use it to make small, steady improvements.
Nakara Baan · Samut Prakan · Thailand
An Airport Guesthouse Built on the Principles of Proper Hospitality
Nakara Baan sits at 118/3 Moo 2, Bang Sao Thong, approximately twelve minutes by road from the international terminal at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The property was designed with transit guests in mind — people passing through Thailand on longer journeys, or those returning home after a late night abroad who simply need a few hours of proper sleep before the next leg.
The guesthouse offers three clearly defined stay options: a daytime rest room for connections under six hours, an overnight stay paired with a complimentary shuttle for those between evening arrivals and morning departures, and a long layover suite for families or groups with a full day between flights. Pricing is stated clearly, and all fees are settled at the property in Thai Baht.
The team at Nakara Baan has operated in this corner of Samut Prakan for over a decade. In that time the property has welcomed travellers from across Southeast Asia, East Asia, Europe and the Gulf — solo business passengers, families in transit, couples on extended journeys — and the welcome has remained consistently warm and unhurried for all of them.
For those seeking a quiet, honest place to rest near Suvarnabhumi Airport without the scale of a large hotel, Nakara Baan offers a considered and personal alternative.
